The beautiful ship Amerigo Vespucci will land in the port of Naples!
27 from June to July 2 2016 the school ship "Amerigo Vespucci" of the Navy will dock at Port of Naples where it can be visited.
The boat, which will celebrate its 85 years of navigation this year, was built in the Royal Shipyard of Castellammare di Stabia in 1930 and serves for the training of officer cadets for the normal roles of the Naval Academy.
The sailing ship is powered by three vertical shafts, equipped with flagpoles and square sails made with plant material. The maneuvers are carried out by hand and each order on board is given by the captain, through the boatswain, with the whistle.
It was considered the most beautiful ship in the world and has recently been carefully restored. He is currently sailing for a tour that will touch 12 important Italian ports with a crew of 300 people younger than the Navy in fixed stops and a group of boy scouts.
We just have to wait for his arrival in our wonderful Molo Beverello where visitors can get on board. As soon as they are known, we will inform you of the times and methods of participation.

- 18.00 - 20.00: arrival of the unit at the Maritime Station of the Port of Naples, the unit will be moored but not open to visitors

- 11.00 - 12.00: "MareVivo" event for the presentation of a bill on the ban on the sale of products containing micro-plastic grains

- 08.00 - 15.30: before the departure of the unit, there will be an exit to the sea in favor of the authorities and guests. The ship will be greeted with a parade of boats from the "Vintage Sails" regatta
During the visits on board, users will be able to visit the photographic exhibition on the Great War and the Marevivo exhibition, both set up on board.
In addition, the Navy, Dual Use Navy, Underwater Command and Navy Incursors, WWF Italy, Telethon, Roma2024 and Italian Sailing Federation stands will be open at the Maritime Station (every day until 21.00).
