Concert at dawn at the Royal Palace of Caserta: August 2018 with the music of the bottari

Aperia at the Royal Palace of Caserta

The Royal Palace of Caserta celebrates Ferragosto 2018 with an evocative concert at dawn: in the Aperia the fascinating music of the bottari!

Another appointment is added to the rich calendar of events scheduled for Ferragosto 2018: exceptional location is this time the Palace of Caserta, which will host "Tini e Botti", a suggestive concert at dawn on August 15th. An ancient art, the bottari music of Macerata Campania.

As usual, the festivities will start with the first morning lights: primordial roots that are born in the peasant world, when they sang before going to work in the fields. The concert is directly linked to the feast of Sant'Antonio, which falls on January 17, when the bottles use vats and barrels as percussion.

In these celebrations, respected for centuries and deeply felt by the inhabitants of the area, that emerges commingling between the sacred and the profane which characterizes much of the popular culture of Campania. Although paying homage to a saint, in fact, the purpose of the rhythmic beatings of the peasant instruments is the liberation from the demons.
