Women's Day in Naples 2014 | #Zeromimose, without flowers and consumerism

#Zeromimose is the initiative of the Youth Department of the Municipality of Naples, for a Women's Day without banality or consumerism

La Women's Day it is not linked only to the purchase of mimosas to give to every exponent of the female sex, but it has a much deeper meaning. L'Youth Councilorship of the Municipality of Naples proposes, therefore, a 8 March without flowers or consumerism, and it will do so with an initiative entitled #Zeromimose, which will contain a series of events and appointments.

The commissioner Alessandra Clemente has already begun, in our city, a path to promote true equality, against discrimination and violence against women, with the screening of the documentary 8 March, a century long history, screened in the hall last February 25 and attended by the boys of the Garibaldi and Galiani high schools and Isis Ipia Miano.

During the presentation of the event #Zeromimose Clemente was flanked by a team of women only: the provincial councilor Luisa Festa, Antonietta Selvaggio of the University of Salerno, the head teacher of the Garibaldi high school, Armida Filippelli; the journalist Titti Marron, the councilor of the tenth municipality Noemi Spatuzzi and Annamaria Sabbatino of Canottieri.

#Zeromimose, looks, voices, gestures and steps of a woman wants to be an initiative that sensitizes women to go beyond banalities, beyond the joy of holding a branch of mimosa in their hand without even knowing the reason for this commemoration, rather than the celebration, of this symbolic date. An opportunity to talk about real social and work opportunities for women, against all forms of discrimination.

“Each of us is responsible for enhancing or rather trivializing the day of 8 March. Consumerism sometimes suffocates the struggles for the right to vote, emancipation, work, equal opportunities and again for counseling, nursery schools and free sexuality. As well as all the other meanings that the women's movement has chosen on its journey to give to 8 March. The party reminds us that a journey has been made and it is up to us to take it forward ”.

Saturday 8 March 2014 at 10: 30 at the Gambrinus bar the next appointment will be held #Zeromimose, followed by an event, starting at 19: 00, al Circolo Canottieri di Napoli, an evening dedicated to "Women and Society".

The goal of the day of the Women's Day will be to make it a moment of reflection and comparison, but also "opportunity for participation and involvement, in the concrete support to associations that, in the territory of Naples and its province, counter daily gender violence and all forms of discrimination, involving the women of Naples engaged in various sectors such as: culture, sport, art, commitment civil, associations, entertainment, journalism, politics, industry ".
