September at the Castle 2019: four days of theater in the shadow of the Maschio Angioino, as part of "Summer in Naples 2019"
From Thursday 5 September 2019 il Maschio Angioino will act as a fascinating theatrical backdrop for the second season of the event September at the Castle. The artistic direction is by Annamaria Russo, while the organization is by the theater Il Pozzo and the Pendolo, all with the patronage of the Municipality of Naples, as part of Summer in Naples 2019.
There will be four days of theater, four titles and a single thread, fate.
That is: “the inscrutable and surprising ways of fate, the iron laws of chance - explains Annamaria Russo - are displayed in each of the shows proposed for the second edition of the review. From the painful fate that condemns Commissioner Ricciardi to hear the last thought in the mind of the dead on which he is called to investigate, the disconcerting succession of accidents that lead to the assassination of Santiango Nazar. From the fate already written in the palm of the hand of the most famous revolutionary of Naples to the case that transforms a banal sentence into a bomb that can destroy the life of Vitangelo Moscarda ”.
As said, we start on Thursday 5. Of scene is "The sense of pain" by Maurizio de Giovanni, with Nico Ciliberti and the voices of Andrea Canova, Gabriele Carraturo, Rosalba di Girolamo, Marcello Magri, Isabella Martino, Marco Palumbo, Fabio Todisco and Ramona Tripodi; adaptation and direction are by Annamaria Russo.
On Friday, 6 will be the turn of a "Chronicle of an announced death", of Gabriel Garcia Marquèz, with Paolo Cresta, Nico Ciliberti, Rosalba di Girolamo, Peppe Romano; here too, the adaptation is by Annamaria Russo, but the direction is by Paolo Cresta.
The kaleidoscopic writing of Marquèz, the warm, spicy, ferocious and sensual suggestions of a South A ferocious and sensual South America between journalistic chronicle and surreal story.
Saturday 7 it will be the turn of "To you, Masaniello", dramaturgy and direction by Annamaria Russo; the performers are Nico Ciliberti, Marianita Carfora, Salvatore Catanese, Cristiano Di Maio, Laura Pagliara, Alfredo Mundo, Riccardo Maio, Rita Ingegno, Paolo Rivera, Maya Grasso and Diego Guglielmelli; to mention, finally, the participation of the small Flora, Giulia, Gianluca and Gaia.
On 7 July 1647 the Neapolitan people, reduced to starvation by the high taxes of the Spanish Viceroy, unleash a violent revolt, led by a fisherman, Tommaso Aniello d'Amalfi known as Masaniello ...
To close the programming, Sunday 8, a classic: "One, none and one hundred thousand" di Luigi Pirandello. With Paolo Cresta, who also signs the adaptation and direction.
On stage a man, alone, turns directly to the public, just as the novel addresses the reader directly. He tells his story, and in doing so he confides, he confesses, he relives his inner journey.
