The villa
The splendid Rosebery villa is located on the Posillipo hill and it's the Neapolitan residence of the President of the Italian Republic. For this reason it is possible to visit only some periods of the year. Built at the beginning of the nineteenth century, it extends over an area of about 66.000 m2 and overlooks the sea. It takes the name from the British statesman who bought it in the 1897 and conceived it as an oasis of peace and tranquility only accessible to a select few.
The villa then passed to the English government and subsequently it was donated to the Italian State. From the royal family he will pass to the Aeronautical Academy and from this to the President of the Italian Republic.
