Andy Warhol on display in Naples at the Cloister of S. Agostino alla Zecca

Andy Warhol's "pop" arrives in Naples with 103 works exhibited in the suggestive Cloister of Sant'Agostino alla Zecca

Until 19 July 2015 the suggestive Cloister of Sant'Agostino alla Zecca, located in Corso Umberto, will welcome 103 works by Andy Warhol in an exhibition entitled Andy Warhol in the city.

Naples and Andy Warhol, a combination that has always existed but which, in particular in the last year, has been increasingly consolidated through the exhibition of his works in different locations in the city.

After the exhibition Showcases, hosted by PAN last year and its huge success of visitors, 40 works of the master of American Pop Art were exposed for free to the Vulcano Buono  a few months ago, as a preview of the exhibition Andy Warhol in the city.

In this new special event, presented at a press conference at the Grand Hotel Parker's, visitors will be able to admire, together with the wonders of this cloister in the heart of the historic center, lithographs, serigraphs and offset signed, never exhibited or exhibited on very rare occasions, such as Cats, the particular work dedicated to the cats that Warhol gave to his mother

In addition, of course, to the most famous masterpieces, such as those that immortalize the icons of our times in a "forever" Warholiniano-metropolitan: Mick Jagger 1979 / 1980; Time March 1984 - Michael Jackson; Ingrid Bergman, The Nun 1983; The Rolling Stones - Love You Live, 1977; Diana Ross - Silk Electric, 1982; Marilyn Monroe 1970 / 1971; Marilyn Monroe 1982; Liz Taylor 1964 / 1966; Campbell's Soup Dress 1968.

Warhol's exhibition will be an original opportunity to get to know the Cloister of Sant'Agostino alla Zecca, a place that represents, at the same time, a glorious past (from here the rebellion against the Spanish Inquisition started and the posthumous trial of Masaniello was celebrated) and a promising future, hosting cultural initiatives, artistic aperitifs and musical events in a Naples that , based on its etymology, it becomes more and more a “new city”.

Andy Warhol in the city it will also be an interactive exhibition, thanks to a maxi puzzle of a work by Keith Haring of 32.000 pieces, whose construction everyone can participate in every Sunday, collaborating with the specialized staff of Ravensburger.

The event is organized by Suncommunication through the Pubbliwork events of Angelo Ciliani, the supplier of the works.
