A week of free guided tours in the Naples Aquarium, in the Anton Dohrn Zoological Station of the Villa Comunale
THEAquarium of Naples, located inside the Villa Comunale on the seafront, in the Anton Dorhn Zoological Station, is the oldest in Europe and has decided to open its doors for free to anyone who wants to visit it.
In the week that goes from 23 to 28 June 2014, it will be possible to make some free guided toursand group and also attend the screening of films. Everything was organized under the Naples Shipping Week, an entire week dedicated to meetings, conferences and cultural events organized by the Propeller Club and the Port of Naples.
It will thus be possible to admire one of the few remaining examples of nineteenth century aquarium, but also observe the flora and fauna of the Gulf of Naples and the whole Mediterranean. In addition, lively scientific research is active within it and there are various educational programs for the public, students, teachers, and many scientific and awareness-raising interventions, as well as conservation programs for rare and protected species.
During these free tours, you will see a new specimen of Caretta Caretta turtle, coming from Mexico, which in May was found in the waters of Mondragone and transported to the Aquarium of Naples, where it will be able to be together with the other specimens present there.
