At the Palace of Portici 2016 Christmas will be exciting with markets, narrated visits and workshops for children!
Also the Palace of Portici will celebrate 2016 Christmas with a very special event, bringing ancient historical characters back to life and making children entertained with so many activities. All in the beautiful Bourbon residence and events will begin Thursday 8 December to end Sunday 11 December and will be dedicated to King Naso and Carolina.
We speak of Ferdinand IV of Bourbon and his wife, who will be honored in various ways. Recall that instead of a Naples there will be many events on Carlo di Borbone, on the occasion of the centenary of the sovereign's birth.
Christmas markets
First of all, there will be 40 stand to recreate the typical Christmas markets and will be set up in the Royal Palace of Portici. For the occasion, you can visit the salons of the Bourbon residence for free.
Narrated visit
Furthermore, gThe actors of the NEArtPOLIS company will revive some historical characters in period costumes, transforming them into exceptional guided tours. In this way, it will be possible to participate in the narrated visit "Christmas Carol at the Royal Palace: a reverie", led by the eighteenth-century nobleman Fernando Nunez.
It will be a slightly elf ghost who will reveal the secrets of the Royal Palace and will make you discover the Ercolanense Museum. He was a court gentleman and trusted friend of Charles of Bourbon and will tell you many Christmas fairy tales, as well as ancient stories and fairy tales from all times. Thanks to his stories, Ferdinand, Carolina and other characters of the Bourbon era will relive in a reworking of Christmas fairy tales.
Workshops for children
There will also be workshops for children, the Christmas workshops, to give way to children to express themselves and enhance their creative skills. They will create Christmas toys and decorations in the halls of the Reggia.
