Exhibition Six-legged jewelry at Ariano Irpino with rare and spectacular insects

Rare insects at the Six-legged Jewels exhibition in Ariano Irpino

Rare and beautiful insects at the exhibition "Six-legged jewels" in Ariano Irpino!

31 from March to April 2 2017 the “Hunting, fishing, nature and entertainment fair” will take place at the Campania Exhibition Center in Ariano Irpino.

The fair will be enriched by the exhibition "Six-legged jewelry”, An unmissable exhibition dedicated to rare and most spectacular insects in the world with their multitude of existing species. Among them will be exhibited golden and silver scarab, butterflies such as South American Morpho Helena, the "empress of India". The highlight will be the pair of "Ornithottera of Queen Alessandra"(Ornithoptera Alexandrae), the largest and most beautiful daytime butterfly. It is one of the rarest and most protected animals on Earth and will be on exclusive display.

These insects with such special colors (which are mimetic adaptations to escape the attack of their numerous predators) seem creations of goldsmiths instead of real "jewels" of nature, and therefore will be exhibited in elegant entomological showcases and refined glass displays, set on jewels caskets, illuminated so as to enhance their beauty.

The aim of the event is to sensitize visitors to the wonders of creation and the respect for these insects.
