At Palazzo Zevallos Stigliano in Naples an exhibition on Andy Warhol with some works from the “Vesuvius” series.

14 4 from April to June 2017, Palazzo Zevallos Stigliano of Naples, there will be an exhibition dedicated to the master of pop art Andy Warhol, in which it will be possible to admire two of its most important serigraphs.

It is about two works "Vesuvius (black)" and "Vesuvius (red)", which belong to the Intesa San Paolo collection and which are included in the famous "Vesuvius" series that Warhol dedicated to our volcano. The series consists of a cycle of works that the artist created in 1985 on the occasion of the exhibition, of the same title, which was set up at Museum of Capodimonte in collaboration with the gallersita his friend Lucio Amelio.

Andy Warhol wanted to devote himself to these works to show, in an intense and impactful way, the majesty of Vesuvius and the constant threat that it exerts on citizens of the Neapolitan province. He did it very well using bright colors and matched perfectly. This series also well represents the bond that Wahrol had with Naples, always expressed in the early 80s with the opera "Hurry up", his personal interpretation of the first page of the Morning published on the occasion of the Irpinia earthquake. Currently, it is located in the Palace of Caserta, as part of the exhibition Terrae Motus.
