Let's see in detail some of these Latin American dance styles.

Samba

Samba is a musical style originating from Brazil, born from the union of the musical traditions of various African ethnic groups. In the original dance you can see the rhythms of the liturgies of some divinities that belong to the religions of various African peoples: cateretè, bajao, batuque and jongo.

Cha Cha Cha

The Cha Cha Cha is a Cuban dance born in 1900. The reason why it was called so is not clear, it is thought that either it depends on the rhythm that is counted during the execution of the steps that is "two-three-cha cha cha" , or the noise produced by the sole of the shoes during the triple step.

Rumba

Rumba is a Cuban dance born at the end of slavery by poor but free people who used dance and music to express their thoughts on religion, society and affections. The main element of this dance was the accelerated and rocking movement of the dancers.

Paso Doble

The Paso Doble is of Spanish origin. Initially it was used for the parades of the quadrilles during the bullfight, in fact all the figures were inspired by the actions of the bullfighter during the fight with the bull. In this dance the two dancers must express energy and involve every part of the body maintaining a certain rigor in all movements.

Salsa

Salsa was born in Cuba and derives from the Son, even if compared to it, while maintaining the function of courtship dance, it accelerates the rhythm. This dance brings back to the musical traditions of the countries of Central and South America and has been handed down from generation to generation, by style, technique and interpretation.

Meringue

Merengue is a dance with an overwhelming rhythm, born in the Dominican Republic. It is assumed that it originated from the imitation of the movements of slaves who, due to the chains at the ankles, to move quickly in the fields rhythmically transferred the weight of the body from one foot to the other.

Bachata

Bachata was born among the poor people of the Dominican Republic and was a way to escape from everyday problems. The way of dancing was considered vulgar and was opposed by the authorities because the bodies of the man and woman were too entangled. Today, however, it is considered a sensual and engaging dance.

Mambo

The mambo was born from the desire on the part of the slaves to “let loose” (in the true sense of the word) once free from the chains, hence one of the most frenetic dances was born. It is a dance full of rhythm and sensuality that is performed in pairs and involves the encounter between man and woman who perform the same steps.

Tango

At the Latin American Festival you can admire the performances of Tango, one of the most loved couple dances in the world. It is an elegant and passionate dance, based on improvisation and on the feeling between the two dancers who, through body language, music and song lyrics, tell an exciting story without the use of words. The Argentine Tango in 2009 was included by UNESCO in the list of intangible heritage of humanity, for its artistic, cultural and historical value.

Zumba

At the Latin American Festival all they will have fun in the company of the masters, at the rhythm of the Zumba, a fitness discipline that combines aerobic movements with the rhythms of Latin American dances. The music and choreography that have been studied for Zumba are intended to entertain and make you forget the physical effort.
