An exhibition dedicated to the master Giorgio De Chirico is set up at the Mag Gallery in Amalfi and is entitled La Ricostruzione.
Giorgio De Chirico is the most important representative of the metaphysical painting and characterized the last century with its enigmatic art.
Since December 6 2016 it will be possible to admire an exhibition with his works in the town of Amalfi, an exhibition that will last until March 9 2017. The inauguration will be at 19.00 pm on 6 December.
The masterpieces of De Chirico, in the exhibition entitled The reconstruction, will be put on display in the Mag Gallery, in the ancient city Arsenal, formerly the seat of the Museum of the Compass and the Duchy. The exhibition includes 13 canvases covering the span of time by 1948 to 1976 and was organized by the cultural association "MetaMorfosi", chaired by Pietro Folena. The co-organizer of the exhibition is Isa De Chirico who represents the Giogio and Isa De Chirico Foundation.
The paintings, in fact, come from this Foundation and are an example of the painter's period of old age. In fact, the paintings on show in Amalfi they draw inspiration from his period shortly after the Metaphysics, but at the same time resume subjects already experienced in youth. Here we find the typical dummies (a tribute to Renaissance art), the traditional ones busts in Greco-Roman marble, the ancient relics of a bygone era and still lifes.
De Chirico's art will also be recalled by the location, which has a late medieval structure that contrasts well with the lines of his subjects.
