The Bellini Theater will be transformed into the Shakespearean Globe Theater with 6 shows on stage at the Napoli Teatro Festival!
5 June 2017 is inaugurated today, the tenth edition of the Naples Theater Festival, the theatrical kermesse that transforms Naples for ten years in an open-air theater with performances and performances in many places of the city.
Among them, within the vast program of the festival, there is a very special and original show entitled "Glob (e) to Shakespeare " to be held from 6 to 8 June 2017 at the Bellini Theater, project signed by the director and artistic director Gabriele Russo which provides for the representation of 6 Shakespearean texts reworked and directed by some of the most interesting artists of the contemporary scene but set up "in the manner" of Shakespeare.
For the occasion, as the title of the show itself suggests, the Bellini Theater will be dismantled from the seats of the audience to become like the real Shakespearean Globe Theater, an open and enveloping space that provides a scenic action in the center of the room, while the public will be placed all around.
For three evenings, one can therefore witness the magic of Shakespeare's theater, and immerse yourself in the original atmosphere of the London Globe Theater, a community experience and social participation typical of the Elizabethan theater, far from the type of theater that developed in the same period, at the end of the '500, in Italy with the Italian theater and its frontal scene away from the public.
