To celebrate the International Day against Violence against Women, Naples organizes many initiatives: here is the program!
Today, 25 November, we celebrate the International day for the elimination of violence against women, an "anniversary" that none of us would ever want to celebrate but which unfortunately in 2019 now seems more than necessary even in Campania, where recent statistics show that over five women a day they are victims of abuse.
The story of the Day against violence against women
The anniversary, established byUnited Nations General Assembly in 1999, it falls on November 25, in memory of the murder of three Mirabal sisters, an example of revolutionary women who opposed the dictatorship of the Dominican Republic in the 1960.
Despite having been established in the distant 1999, in Italy it is from 2005 that some anti-violence centers have begun to celebrate this day, and over the years more and more institutions and institutions participate in the anniversary through cultural and political initiatives.
The program
Also Napoli participate in the celebration of this important event by organizing several organisers' activities such as public assemblies, seminars, workshops, all aimed at promoting, raising awareness, sharing and respecting the sexes. Some of the initiatives will take place until 8 December 2019.

We say no to violence against women: The IPTS instructors and expert psychologists will hold courses and free seminars for all women, in which various topics will be covered: data analysis and forms of violence, notions of victimology and criminology, effective defensive prevention, self-defense techniques and tactics, and also a focus on the defensive use of pepper spray.

Presentation of "Hshouma. Corps et sexualité au Maroc "by Zainab Fasiki: book presentations and performance seminars on "Gender, individual liberties and Islam between the two shores of the Mediterranean". The theme will be dealt with from two points of view: that of the sociologist and municipal councilor of Milan Soumaya Abdel Qader, a Muslim activist in Italy and that of Zainhab Fasiki, an atheist Moroccan cartoonist, who is fighting for individual freedoms of self-determination to his body.

Free training course which provides useful tools to start an entrepreneurial adventure from scratch, in particular it will focus on female entrepreneurship, and those attending the course will then be able to take advantage of the free assistance of MicroLab Business Mentors to develop their own business idea.
