Unesco World Heritage Pizza in Naples: second anniversary with free events

The art of the Neapolitan pizza maker recognized as a Unesco heritage: in Naples we celebrate the second anniversary with free events!

Saturday 7 December 2019 will be celebrated at Napoli a very special event, or the second anniversary of the UNESCO recognition of the art of the Neapolitan pizza maker. 

The events to celebrate will start as early as December 4 in the city.

In fact, after a long wait and eight years of negotiations finally in the 2017, the Pizza has been declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UnescoIn particular, to receive this very important recognition is the set of gestures, songs and local jargon combined with the great ability to handle the pizza dough.

The events for the second anniversary of the prestigious award

In Naples various events will be organized in numerous pizzerias with experience "Pizzajuolo what a passion!" and activities to celebrate this particular anniversary in the name of taste and sharing. In fact, there will be several free events scheduled from 4 to 7 December 2019. Admission to the experience "Pizzajuolo what a passion" it is free but it will be mandatory to register, indicating the event for which you want to be accredited.

Wednesday December 4 2019

  • 11 hours: 00 Campania Region (Francesco De Sanctis Room), Palazzo Santa Lucia, Press conference to present the program of celebrations.
  • 19:30 Zi Teresa Restaurant, Meeting "The art of the Neapolitan pizza maker and the Mediterranean diet"

Thursday December 5 2019

  • 12 Hours: 30 True Neapolitan Pizza Association (Aula Magna), Meeting with the Influencers "The art of Neapolitan pizza live on social media" How to prepare a pizza according to the traditional method protected by UNESCO with the Neapolitan pizza chefs of the True Neapolitan Pizza Association and the Neapolitan Pizzaiuoli Association.
  • 16 hours: 00-18: 00 Pizzerias "Neapolitan Pizza Association" and "Neapolitan Pizza True Association" Naples "Pizzajuolo che passione!". Free experiential route to the first registered 100 (10 in each pizzeria) that will be registered on scabec site.

  • 10 Hours: 30 Portici Palace (Chinese Room), via 100 University Portici, Conference: "Neapolitan pizza: between tradition and science".
  • 16 hours: 00-18: 00 Pizzerias "Neapolitan Pizza Association" and "Neapolitan Pizza True Association" Naples "Pizzajuolo che passione!". Free experiential route to the first registered 100 (10 in each pizzeria) that will be registered on scabec site.
  • 16 Hours: 00-18: 00 Antica Pizzeria Brandi, Meeting with the media to celebrate the eve of the 2 anniversary of "The art of the Neapolitan pizzaiuolo" World Heritage Site

Saturday December 7 2019

  • 10 Hours: 00 Royal Pontifical Basilica "San Francesco di Paola", Holy Mass and solemn blessing of pizza makers.
  • 11 Hours: 30 Gran Caffè Gambrinus, Cutting of the 2 Celebration Cake Anniversary of "The Art of the Neapolitan Pizza Maker" World Heritage.
