La Traviata, the splendid masterpiece by Giuseppe Verdi, will be staged in the beautiful Teatro San Carlo in Naples!

Saturday 24 at 20:00 and Sunday 25 October 2020 at 17:00 in the beautiful San Carlo Theater in Naples will be staged The Traviata, the splendid masterpiece by Giuseppe Verdi.

The opera in three acts on a libretto by Francesco Maria Piave is inspired by the Lady of the Camellias, a play by Alexander Dumas son. The first performance of this work took place in Venezia in the Teatro della Fenice in 1853, al Teatro San Carlo instead it will be proposed in concert form by the splendid orchestra.

The concert will last 2 hours and 50 minutes and will bring your mind back to the splendid Paris and the history of Lady of the Camellias, from which Verdi's Traviata takes inspiration. Violetta Valéry will be played by Nino Machaidze on October 24, while on 25 by Maria Grazia Schiavo, while Alfredo Germont by Francesco Demuro on October 24 and Ivan Magrì on 25.

Initially the work was not welcomed in a positive way because it was based on a rough subject for that time, becoming only later a work among the most represented in Italy.
