It is scheduled for 8 and 9 June next and is the biggest cleanup of Vesuvio organized spontaneously by a network of associations. The aim is to free the area of the Campania volcano from all the waste it contains. Of course, we are talking about the consequence of a whole series of abusive spills which one wants to put a point.
Over the years, all types of waste have been spilled: construction waste, industrial waste, highly toxic substances, and chemical products carcinogenic. Therefore, the associations, including CleaNap, Campani Citizens' Project for an Alternative Waste Plan, the Miglio d'Oro Art association and the Parkour group, have spontaneously decided to act to ensure that a shared action is created by citizens, institutions and professionals in the sector.
The network is included in the “Let's do it! Italy ”, also active in the territory of our region, and there will be many volunteers who will work to free the Vesuvius National Park from the degradation that surrounds it. As you can read from their site, in fact:
Become one of the symbols of the Italian disaster in waste management, in recent years Vesuvius has been the background of dozens of reports and photos on the emergency waste in Naples, which have been around the world. It seems appropriate to start from here, reappropriating a territory that for over 40 years is hostage to illicit spills and environmental abuses. We want that, as a symbol of decay, Vesuvius becomes an emblem of the opportunities offered by a healthy relationship with the environment that surrounds us.
