A journey through the colors, scents, melodies and flavors of the fascinating India at the Mostra d'Oltremare in Naples!

If you love India, its intoxicating scents, its characteristic folklore, the flavors and colors of this magnificent land, you cannot miss it. Magic India, an event to be held at the Mostra d'Oltremare of Naples for two weekends, from the 30 June to the 2 July 2017 and from the 7 to the 8 July 2017.

Magic India falls within the broader manifestation of the title Naples Meet the World which will include many other international festivals scheduled over the same two weekends.

During the event Magic India it will be possible to make a real one journey to discover India, savor the spicy dishes of Indian cuisine, listen to traditional melodies, attend religious and spiritual rituals, admire the colorful clothes and the gaudy ornaments of the local women, and even stroll among elephants, camels, peacocks, temples and royal palaces! In a real fairy tale experience!

Events of Magica India 

Tradition and Culture

Immerse yourself in a world that is far and completely different from ours! Among conferences, conventions, photographic exhibitions and shows, it will be possible to discover Indian customs and traditions and aspects of daily life and the organization of society, but also habits, beliefs, rites and ceremonies.

Great spirituality

A varied diversity of beliefs, religions and cultural practices coexist in India. You will have the opportunity to get to know them all, and to discover that Indian rites, cults and spiritual ceremonies represent a strong link between past and present. A sacred and spiritual sphere that has as symbols the river Ganges, the temples of worship and the veneration of animals such as monkeys, cows and mice.

Music and dances

Exciting and engaging shows will make you admire the grace of Indian music and dance, between the sound of sitar, flutes, percussion, the tinkling of the bells of the dresses, the colorful costumes and silk veils, the bagliroe of jewels. You will discover, for example, that there is a song that celebrates the deeds of the gods, one that marks the seasonal rhythms of nature, another that brings joy to the work of the farmer or the camel driver.

Bollywood

An area of ​​the festival will be completely dedicated to Bollywood, the traditional Indian cinema which is based in Mumbai and You will be able to participate in conventions, conferences, photographic exhibitions, workshops to learn the history and development of this particular film industry and understand the differences between Indian and Western cinema.

Dining

Dishes with an intense and spicy flavor await you at the festival! You can taste the typical curry but above all dishes from the north and south of India including meat flavored with ginger, skewers flavored with spices, legumes and cereals, rice enriched with different condiments, traditional bread and yoghurt sauces.

The Spice Bazaar

In the festival there will be an area completely set up in the Spice Bazaar, where you can admire and buy Indian spices of all kinds, get to know their characteristics, appreciate their colors, the heady and intense scent and the engaging flavors. From cinnamon to cardamom, from curry to cloves, from cumin to ginger to turmeric, you will discover the therapeutic and beneficial properties of each spice for our daily well-being!

local crafts

In this journey back in time, you cannot miss a typical Indian market, full of many Indian handicraft products. And it will be like walking through the alleys, streets and stalls of Old Delhi! You can admire local artifacts such as colorful Kashmiri rugs, Jaipur blue pottery, copper and brass and inlaid wood objects, traditional Sari garments, Indian silk, decorated cotton, colorful Indian lanterns, cushions, mirrors, essential oils, spices, incense!
