Menhir pub and tavern in Naples | Review

Menhir

Review of the Sardinian restaurant, the Menhir in Via Giotto in Naples.

We leave temporarily the taverns described in the past weeks to immerse ourselves in Sardinian cuisine with Menhir, local site in via Giotto al Vomero.

The local

Entering the restaurant you are immediately immersed in a fairytale atmosphere with paintings of dragons and witches on the walls. The place is small but the owners, really kind, they will not let you notice this little problem.

Fridays are organized every Friday jazz music concerts (you can find here the calendar) for a small surcharge. There are also listen-and-drink or listen-and-eat “packages” available. On this same day the real is organized Sardinian dinner. The Menhir cook will offer you good dishes from his land, including the porceddu.

The menu

The proposed menu is very varied and, note of merit, it is almost everything for people too celiache. It ranges from simple sandwiches up to roasts or Sardinian and simpler first courses. Also good assortment of appetizers and beers proposed. They also have beer Estrella, one of the very few gluten-free beers.

To underline the specialties of this place like the sausages by the meter, stuffed potatoes and seadas.

The order

We started our meal with the Menhir appetizer. The cold cuts are good and the croutons are very special.

We continued trying the stuffed potatoes with fried aubergines and provola.

And finally we tried the famous culurgiones, pasta made with unmistakable potatoes. Really a lot good.

Cost of the evening? 15 euro each.

Conclusions

Good relationship quality / price , kindness of the owners. We point out the offers for lunch at 7,50 euro during the week for a full menu and 13 euro on Sundays.
