At the National Railway Museum of Pietrarsa a truly suggestive evening with the Night of the Moon event in which you can make exciting observations of the sky!
Friday September 25 2020 there will be an unmissable appointment at the National Railway Museum of Pietrarsa in Naples with the event International Night of the
month promoted by NASA.
The event is organized by the Pietrarsa Museum which hosts it the Neapolitan Amateur Astronomers Union and has the moral patronage of INAF - Capodimonte Astronomical Observatory and will allow guests to make wonderful and suggestive observations of the Moon.
Moon night
Thanks to the collaboration with UAN, the Neapolitan Amateur Astronomers Union, all guests on Friday 25 September at the Railway Museum of Pietrarsa will be able to admire the moon with the telescopes of the Association.
During the evening you can also visit the Museum and its vintage carriages and, why not, do a aperitif at the lounge bar of the Bourbon track.
The UAN stations at the Pietrarsa Museum
They will be different UAN locations set up for the evening, here they are listed below:
- Cinema room: videos will be projected on the Moon at 20:30, 21:00 and 21:30 lasting 15/20 minutes each;
- UAN point: a location where guests can receive information about the Neapolitan Amateur Astronomers Union and where brochures will be distributed on the UAN, the map to orient themselves in the September Sky, a bookmark with the moon phases, the Lunameter and plastic filters, disposable and personal , for use with the telescope. You will also receive the personal Certificate of Participation in the International Night of the Moon;
- Constellations and Myths: an outdoor station where the public will be helped to orient themselves in the sky and to recognize the constellations of the periosal.
- Telescope: outdoor station to observe the Moon, accompanied by an explanation.
In case of bad weather there will be no external stations, but the cinema hall and the UAN Point will remain inside. Obviously, all anti rules will be respected Coronavirus, in fact, guests will be able to have access to the area in groups of 30-40, moreover it will be it is mandatory to wear a mask. Plastic filters will also be distributed, to be interposed between the eye and the eyepiece, for observations.
