Closed museums and cultural activities suspended in Naples as in all Italy: the government strengthens measures against Coronavirus
All the museums of Naples and Campania will come closed until April 3, 2020: the Italian government established it given the need for stop the spread of the Coronavirus epidemic.
Not only museums closed
The National Archaeological Museum, the MANN Museum, the Royal Palace of Capodimonte like that of Caserta, the Certosa di San Martino, the Archaeological Park of Pompeii and Herculaneum close their doors to four weeks, along with all the other museums on Campania soil.
Il Minister of Culture Dario Franceschini communicated through a Tweet of his official account which will also be closed cinemas, theaters, as they will be concerts and cultural events are prohibited of various types.
Also libraries and archives they will be made inaccessible to the public in order to limit as much as possible the interaction and the gathering of people in confined spaces.
Why close on March 8?
The closure of museums and other areas intended for culture and public entertainment comes in conjunction with March 8: the goal is to effectively prevent celebrations on the occasion of Women's Day, which could literally be disastrous for the spread of the epidemic.
