The performances of the Nuovo Teatro Sanità in Naples restart with the new season and new locations.
Following the provisions adopted in the Dpcm of 24 October 2020, all events scheduled for the On the road season are suspended until 24 November 2020.

The eighth season of the New Sanità Theater in Naples begins in September, certainly in a period of emergency that is not easy to deal with, but with a great desire to resume making culture and to give the right space to theatrical activities, with all the right precautions and in safety.
The title of this new season is "On the road - All roads lead to the theater”And it will take place until December, while the rest of the theatrical bill for 2021 will be revealed later, waiting for more certain answers on the health situation due to the Coronavirus.
Different locations: the Nuovo Teatro Sanità is itinerant
The artistic director is Mario Gelardi and his project wants to give real centrality to the theater, as can be seen from the season's subtitle: “All roads lead to the theater”. In fact, also for this reason the locations where the performances of the ntS 'artistic collective will take place will be various: Mother Museum, Teatro Bellini, San Gennaro Community Foundation which provides the Basilica of Santa Maria della Sanità.
Unfortunately, the precarious situation caused by Covid-19 also led to the lack of space to reorganize the artistic rebirth, but the NTS was not discouraged and managed to find the resources and the desire to move forward. This is why, since at the beginning it was thought to even act on the street (hence the title On the road), this new solution was subsequently found.
The program of the Nuovo Teatro Sanità
From 18 to 20 September - Museo Madre
It starts from the Mother Museum with the show of the "Biographies of unknown artists”In collaboration with the Donnaregina Foundation. The young artists bring “Dramma Lab” to the stage, the lives of artists invented and interpreted by Vincenzo Antonucci, Luigi Bignone, Ciro Burzo, Gaetano Migliaccio, Salvatore Nicolella, Enrico Pacini, Carlo Vannini, Chiara Vitiello.
From 15 to 18 October - Basilica of Santa Maria della Sanità
On stage "'A freva - The plague in the Rione Sanità”Directed by Mario Gelardi. The show is co-produced with the Teatro di Napoli - Teatro Nazionale. It is inspired by "The plague" by Albert Camus, rewritten by Mario Gelardi and Fabio Pisano and also takes inspiration from the events of the Coronavirus. The show is set in an isolated city where a very contagious fever spreads to which the inhabitants inexorably resign themselves. We want to communicate that solidarity is fundamental. The interpreters are Simone Borrelli, Michele Brasilio, Ivan Castiglione, Agostino Chiummariello, Paolo Cresta, Carlo Geltrude, Davide Mazzella, Gaetano Migliaccio, Alessandro Palladino, Beatrice Vento.
From 29 October to 13 December - Piccolo Bellini
In the context of "Plan Be“, The programming of the Bellini Theater, is given space by a small theatrical reality. In fact, for two months the Bellini manages its spaces both at the ntS 'collective and at the Teatro Civico 14 in Caserta.
The NTS shows are as follows:
- from 29 October to 1 November: "Four men locked in a room”On the theme of state deaths. By Mario Gelardi with Ivan Castiglione, Carlo Geltrude, Gennaro Maresca, Alessandro Palladino
- from the 12 to the November 15: "The Cow”By Elvira Buonocore, with Vincenzo Antonucci, Anna De Stefano, Gennaro Maresca (also director). A neorealist fable that, at BEAT teatro, won the Dante Cappelletti 2019 Award
- from the 26 to the November 29: "Clay“, By the Catalan Marta Buchaca with Teresa Saponangelo, Ivan Castiglione, Vincenzo Antonucci, Mariano Coletti, Giampiero De Concilio, Arianna Iodice, directed by Mario Gelardi.
- from 10 to 13 December: "BI - Brothers“, Taken from the short story“ Two brothers ”by Bernardo Atxaga and adapted by Mario Gelardi. The interpreters: by Arianna Cozzi, Carlo Geltrude, Alessandra Mantice, Salvatore Nicolella and Emanuele Valenti, who also directs them.
From 23 to 25 October - New Sanità Theater - Piazzetta San Vincenzo room
"Dancecrossing | Cultural Mobility Models of Dance Movement". It is a contemporary dance project that emphasizes the mobility of artists and works through performances and shows by more and less young artists.
From 20 to 22 November - New Sanità Theater - Piazzetta San Vincenzo room
"Bloodless“, Written and directed by Diego Maht. Interpreters: Sara Guardascione, Gaetano Migliaccio, Enrico Pacini. It tells the story of Davide, an artist in crisis who does not communicate with the rest of the world and lives in his studio, accompanied only by the hallucinations of his unfinished characters.
From 4 to 6 December - New Sanità Theater - Piazzetta San Vincenzo room
"This letter about the dead clown“, Text and direction by Davide Pascarella with Paola Senatore. It tells the story of a train driver who runs over a clown on a unicycle walking in the wrong direction on the tracks.
