Via Toledo

Via Toledo is, since the sixteenth century, one of the most beautiful and important arteries of the city of Naples both from the point of view commercial is cultural e historical.

It was built in 1536 at the behest of the viceroy Pedro Alvarez de Toledo. It is long 1,2 km and, starting from Piazza Dante, leads to Piazza Trieste and Trento. Among the main palaces you will find Palazzo Cirella, Zevallos, Lieto, De Rosa, Trabucco, Mastelloni and Doria d'Angri.

The road has been called from 1870 to 1980 Via Roma in honor of the new capital of the Kingdom of Italy.

From the 2012, with the inauguration of the Toledo station of the Naples Metro, the road was entirely used as pedestrian transit.
