On Stage, set designers and costume designers in Naples on display at the Academy of Fine Arts

The Academy of Fine Arts of Naples becomes the theater of the “On Stage” exhibition, dedicated to Neapolitan costume designers and set designers active in the 1980-1990s!

The best theatrical performances and the most famous films, have come to success not only for the talent and preparation of the artists, but also for the whole world that is hidden behind the scenes.

To pay homage to the background, theAcademy of Fine Arts of Naples is pleased to bring out the city's spotlight, from the 20 February to the 18 April 2015, the exhibition "On Stage - set designers and costume designers in Naples 1980 - 1990".

The current exhibition is dedicated to the work of the costume and to the set designers Neapolitan in the decade '80 -'90, years in which Naples became the most prestigious pole for the visual arts in all of Southern Italy.

Visitors will therefore be able to find out about 40 works sketches and costumes created by teachers, former teachers and former students trained at the Neapolitan Academy.

Specifically "On Stage" represents the last stage of a cultural path, aimed at enhancing the artistic heritage of Naples, started in Castel Sant'Elmo with "Rewind - Art in Naples 1980 - 1990"And continued later with"Blow up - Photography in Naples 1980 - 1990"At Villa Pignatelli.

Among the authors of the scenic section, curated by Renato Lori, appear important brands such as, to name a few, Angiuoni, Autiero, Barbalato, Barbato, and many others. While the part dedicated to costumes, curated by Federica De Rosa, boasts people like Giustino, De Vincentiis, Nicoletti, Morelli, Colarusso, Sallustio, Giacci, Scotti and Metelli.

All embellished with video clips and unpublished photographs belonging to thehistorical archive of the Rai of Naples.
