The Parco dei Piccoli di Paestum opens in January 2020 and is a child-friendly playground to discover, while having fun, the secrets of archeology.

Il Archaeological Park of Paestum welcomes many children every year, who come to be too half of the total visitors.

For this reason the superintendence of the park, which is part of the Unesco World Heritage Sites, it is equipped with a play area dedicated to children just inaugurated.

How did the ancient Greeks play?

In the Park of Piccoli di Paestum they have been installed ten different structures accompanied by explanatory panels which reproduce some of the most famous and loved logic games of the Greek tradition and some construction machines in miniature, the same ones that were used for the construction of the large temples that made Paestum famous in the world.

An archaeological playground

The new installations of the Park of Piccoli di Paestum have been positioned at a very short distance from the Temple of Neptune and from the so-called Basilica. All around have been laid out benches to accommodate young and old during some well-deserved moments of relaxation.

As explained on director of the park Gabriel Zuchtriegel, the goal of the Parco dei Piccoli is to offer younger visitors the opportunity to involve all the senses in the discovery of knowledge related to the most ancient history and to the daily life of our ancestors.

All the installations were made with environmentally friendly materials and in full respect of the principles of environmental sustainability which is inspiring the evolution of companies and public entities around the world.
