For the Dago Red Tour at the Bolivar Theater in Naples the guitarist Fausto Mesolella and the singer-songwriter Raiz will perform.
Il 28 January 2017 il guitarist Fausto Mesolella and Neapolitan singer-songwriter Raiz will be in concert at Bolivar Theater of Naples to propose their recording project entitled "Dago Red". The two musicians, coming from successful musical experiences (remember that Mesolella is a component of Avion Travel while Raiz is one of the founders of the Almanegretta group), for this album they originated from the homonymous story written by the Italian-American John Fante, published between 1900 and 1930. The term Dago Red indicated the red wine of the Italians emigrated to America, a strong and intoxicating wine.
Each piece is interpreted by one of the most beautiful voices of Italian music able to pass from one music to another (different for both genre, culture, historical period and geographical origin) as if one were the continuation of the other. Of course it is not a cover but one historical reinterpretation in which rock, blues, soul and reggae mix together in an original way to give life to an extraordinary work.
The starting point of this project is the classic Neapolitan music, songs like "Lagrime Napulitane" by Bovio-Buongiovanni re-emerge with a magical touch in "Immigrant Punk" by Gogol Bordello by Eugene Hutz, or "Tu ca nun chiagne" by Libero Bovio turns into one of the hymns of Who "See Me, Feel Me ”, then Sergio Bruni's“ Carmela ”mixes with Leonard Cohen's“ I'm your man ”and Massimo Ranieri's“ O surdato 'nnammurato ”turns into George Harrison's“ Give me love ”. We also remember “Maruzzella” composed in 1954 by Renato Carosone and here interpreted by Raiz in a beautiful Hebrew version. A concert that contains history and culture, an experience not to be missed.
