The life and work of San Giuseppe Moscati are staged in Naples in the places loved by the doctor of the poor.
Sunday 17 November and Sunday 1 December 2019, on the occasion of the celebration of the liturgical memorial of San Giuseppe Moscati, will leave, from the Piazza del Gesù Nuovo, the dramatized story of life of the saint, called "Giuseppe Moscati a man between faith and science".
The dramatized show
The actors stage several episodes of his earthly journey in the places that were dearest to him. The aim is to recall the generous career of the doctor, who dedicated a life to the care of the poor and in-patients, always in a disinterested manner. He also devoted a lot to scientific and medical research.
The route starts from the Church of Gesù Nuovo, where there is the Chapel of the Visitation in which the cult of San Giuseppe Moscati is celebrated, to then make a stop in the area of university clinics. finally, we come to then come into vico San, in the fondaco area, where the cholera developed and a place that the same MOscati often visited.
After crossing via dell'Anticaglia, you arrive at Museum of Health Arts. Here, one can observe the ancient surgical instruments and also vintage medical tools such as enemas, microscopes, portable pharmacies and anatomical machines of the '700 in papier-mâché.
The show guides
Participants will be guided along the itinerary by the guide Matteo Borriello, that at the end of the path, that is in the Museum of Health Arts, it will give way to the volunteer doctors of the Faro di Hippocrates Association, who will show the participants the environments in which the saint worked and worked.
The lyrics
The texts of the staging are edited by Febo Quercia and will be interpreted by the actors Raffaele Ausiello, Peppe Romano and Katia Tannoia.

Il ticket costs 12 Euro and it's reservation required. The initiative is organized by the NarteA Association.
