The third edition of the Crib Art Exhibition will be held in the prisons of the Castel dell'Ovo in Naples

With the purpose of protect and re-evaluate secular traditions of the Neapolitan culture, the National Union pro loco of Naples organized the third edition of the Exhibition of the Cribs, set up in the ancient jails of the magicalocation Castel dell'Ovo.

For a month we can admire the handmade crib masterpieces of true Masters who have been carefully selected and chosen by the Unpli. The exhibition will highlight the 'Neapolitan style' and the beauty of this Christmas tradition known and appreciated all over the world, but which has gotten a bit lost over time.

An art, the crib one, but it must not be devalued because it has distant origins and that it had its golden moment during the Bourbon domination, when among the clients there were not only the religious but also the rich.

The nativity scene reproduces the grotto of the Nativity and the external profane world made up of shepherds (in terracotta, hand painted and wearing cloth clothes) representing the various trades carried out in the shops or markets, where they sell and display the goods. A sort of miniature of scenes of everyday life.

If you are traditionally too cribs, you can not miss the exhibition that will surely thrill you.
