The site of Consorzio Unico Campania suffered a hacker attack yesterday 19 August 2020 and hundreds of thousands of registered user access data are in danger. We remind you that the Consortium manages local public transport passes of our region.

According to the information released, they are 165 thousand emails and passwords of registered users who would have gone online, even if the Consortium has specified that all hacked passwords have already been disabled and that the data published on the site, following the attack, were immediately deleted.

Therefore, even if such sensitive data may already have been disclosed on other sites in a special file, they cannot be used because the company has taken steps to deactivate them. In any case, users are advised to change their passwords.

Furthermore, again according to what was declared by the Consorzio Unico Campania, it was in any case data that would not have been sufficient to enter the personal positions of users. We read, on the Facebook page, that "these are archiving data from previous 2016 and 2017 campaigns and which were the same encrypted within the databases. At the moment the "data breach" management procedure has been activated and all the necessary assessments are underway to promptly notify the incident to the Privacy Guarantor, to the interested parties and to make the complaint to the competent Authorities. Therefore, it will be the responsibility of the Consortium to ensure the maximum dissemination of the results of the same. "
