The exhibition “The Dalì Universe” at Villa Fiorentino in Sorrento will be extended by two weeks
An incredible and unprecedented success achieved by the Sorrento Foundation which throughout the summer of 2013 hosted a splendid exhibition at Villa Fiorentino dedicated to the artistic universe of the most eccentric and multifaceted artist of the twentieth century: Salvador Dali.
The Dali Universe, inaugurated last 14 June, turned out to be one of the most visited art exhibitions in Campania, counting an average of 306 visitors a day, with a tip of 641 in a single day, for a total of 27.000 visitors.
This is why the Foundation decided, exceptionally, to prolong the two-week exhibition, until 13 October 2013, to meet the needs of tourists, including many foreigners, travel agencies, tour operators and schools that continue to book tickets to admire the works of the master of surrealism.
The idea of involving in the concept of the exhibition also the whole city of Sorrento, Whose squares they host four giant statues that reproduce four famous works by Dali: The Profile of Time, The Woman in Flames, Homage to Terpsichore, The Surrealist Plan. More than 100 works exhibited at Villa Fiorentino, headquarters of the Foundation, which include precious artistic sketches made in pen, glass sculptures, gold creations, illustrations taken from literary works, paintings inspired by the Bible, decorative objects and bronze statues, which offered visitors a special journey into the world of Salvador Dali.
The Municipality of Sorrento obviously declares itself enthusiastic about the results achieved and has confirmed itself as one of the most popular destinations of the summer 2013 thanks to this exhibition, which has attracted art lovers from all over the world but also onlookers fascinated by the spirit. original and creative by the Spanish artist.
And for the 2014? The Sorrento Foundation already anticipates the next scheduled exhibitions, which will continue in the wake of the art of the '900: Mario Sironi in spring until Easter e Pablo Picasso for the summer of 2014. Two other events that will involve the entire city making art spread to places and streets.
