The church

The monumental church, located in the homonymous square, was built between 1283 and 1324 by the will of Charles III of Anjou, incorporating a pre-existing church from the 10th century BC. The most important remake dates back to that made by Vaccaro that revisited the original gothic forms of the church, transforming them into baroque.
I paintings by great artists stand out on the walls of its rooms. Among the paintings we find works by Cavallini, Solimena, De Vivo and the Fanzago sculptures.
