The Museum

The Museum, dedicated to the exhibition of precious works related to Treasure of San Gennaro, represents a pole of very high historical-artistic and spiritual value and is considered among the richest in the world.

Inside Jewelry, valuables, documents, silver and paintings donated to the Saint over the centuries by Popes, kings and illustrious men. In Sacristythen, there are frescoes by famous artists, among them Luca Giordano, Maximum Stanzione e Domenichino.

The jewels of the Treasure of San Gennaro they are works of inestimable artistic and economic value made by the goldsmith experts of the Neapolitan School and include, among the most famous pieces: the Necklace of San Gennaro, dating back to 1679, composed of thirteen large solid gold links to which are hung crosses studded with sapphires and emeralds; the golden silver Miter, dating back to 1713, with over 3694 rubies, emeralds and diamonds; the Mantle of San Gennaro, covered with precious stones and enamels depicting the heraldic signs of the family; the Golden Chalice studded with rubies, emeralds and diamonds, dating back to the 1761.

  • Saturday and public holidays from 9: 00 to 17: 30 (entry up to 17: 00)
