The Decumanus
Way of the courts, which corresponds exactly to the decumanus (audience in Greek) greater than primordial Greek urban system, is the pedestrian street that, together with the Decumano Inferiore and the Decumano Superiore, crosses the heart of the Old Town in Naples.
The Decumano, starting from port'Alba, ends on the opposite side at Castel Capuano. The latter became a court of the city in the sixteenth century and is the reason why the street in question has been called, since the sixteenth century, via dei Tribunali.
In the middle of its journey, moreover, the road crosses via Duomo, via San Pietro a Majellla with the Conservatory, Forcella, piazza Miraglia, via San Gregorio Armeno and piazza San Gaetano, a place on which theagora of the Greek era, which later became the Roman forum.
