Ztl Via Tribunali in Naples with new cameras: it will become pedestrian

ZTL Marechiaro in Naples

Eight new cameras are about to arrive in Via Tribunali in Naples which are configured in a project for the enlargement of the pedestrian area.

La Ztl, a limited traffic area, is achieving an important revolution since the Municipality of Naples with the help of the Campania Region has decided to enlarge the pedestrian area around the historic center area, especially in via Tribunali. This operation is going to be carried out following however with a certain gradualness in order to be able to obtain this change in order to offer the possibility of being able to get used to the change.

The new Ztl will be of eight cameras, which will be added to the eight already present in via Tribunali, offering a better view of all the entry points to the historic center. They will then be installed in the near the pizzeria Gino Sorbillo and the Gerolomini complex.

The municipality of Naples therefore seems willing to close the historic center to traffic of cars and motorcycles, thus creating a completely pedestrian area. All this has been thought in anticipation ofopening of the Duomo metro station of Line 1 which according to the projects should be fully functional by 2020. The cost of the work should reach 307 thousand euros of which 150 will be financed by the Campania Region on the basis of funds issued by the Ministry of Transport.

The resolution for the project was signed the 13 August 2019 and the cameras should be installed in the coming months. No precise date is known yet, but we will communicate it as soon as it is known.
